Break (from Facettes) was the first song I ever wrote as Eilera. I feel in this song the mixture of peaceful beauty and explosive happiness that I feel every time I visit the area of the Blue mountains back home. – Eilera
Last week I suffered from a strange illness.
It started with pains in my stomach,
that soon spread, from my guts to the rest of my body.
Flashes of light and colours kept appearing before my eyes,
and when they vanished, just as fast as they had come,
they left tears behind them.
I wondered what was happening to me?
Until my love Paavo told me, half-jokingly :
“It is because you’re back in Helsinki!”
Turns out, he was right. I was experiencing home-sickness.
It took me by surprise.
And then I realised,
that the balance in my life between warm and cold
had not been quite right this year .
True to myself, I was reacting to this in an extreme manner.
Like I recently read from one of my favourite authors L.M.Montgomerry :
(…) “those who can soar to the highest heights can also plunge to the deepest depths, and (that) the natures which enjoy most keenly are those which also suffer most sharply.”
(Anne of the Island)
